Scientists say this is a breakthrough that may avoid the ethical and political issues of using true embryonic stem cells. Adult stem cells are "manipulated" to revert them to the equivalent of embryonic stem cells which can then be transformed to any type of cell in the body.
This is very Brave New World. I hope we have the ethical foundation to deal with the powers we're unleashing.
